Interviewee name: Jacki Rogers
-
Jacki was only a small child when WW2 broke out, she moved away from London and lived in unaffected Norfolk throughout the war. Upon her return everything had changed, including her family dynamic. Jacki speaks of the psychological effect war had on people of her generation. It was just as hard for the families that were left behind whilst their husbands and fathers left to fight the war. This had a massive impact on people's relationships after being separated for so many years. She recounts how difficult it was for her and her sister to have their father back after growing up without him for so long. He had become a stranger to them.
