In Part 1 Muhammed tells the story of how he and his family were forced to flee their home to the nearest city, recalling all of the problems which they encountered along the way; problems which encapsulate a civil war that threatened the lives and well being of an entire nation and helped shaped modern day Somalia.

Sometimes you see dreadful stories on the news how war and persecution has resulted in incredible incidents of brutality - and we are all horrified. What you don't often see is just how these events affect the everyday lives of everyday people trying to live in peace while a war is going on around them. This story is told with calm and dignity - helping us to put ourselves in someone else's shoes, if only for a few minutes. Thank you.
