  • Tara Ramdeen's family moved to Trinidad from India to work in the plantations. They ended up settling there and it is where she spent a very happy childhood, although she did feel elements of separation from the Afro-Caribbean community. In this interview Tara explains what life was like on the beautiful, self-sufficient island and how her family maintained their Indian culture in such vastly different surroundings.
