  • Cliff Mills was a young boy of eight when the Second World War started. He was evacuated but returned as soon as he had saved enough for the bus journey home, 2 weeks! In this interview Cliff recounts how his life as a young boy was affected by the war. He witnessed his house being slowly destroyed, his father of 36 being sent to fight whilst his mother looked after him and his brother. He had to grow up rapidly and help his mother however he could to keep the family intact...
