  • Now aged 92, Fay was born in pre-Independence India, where her father built an unusual type of rickshaw. She was shipped off to school in a convent in Belgium where, she says, she learned nothing useful. Then she went to Greece for a year "to swim" before returning to India and meeting the man she would marry.
