Lena died in April 2010 aged 102. 101 years old when she gave this interview, Lena talks about her mother and her mother's early life in Shaftesbury where she was born. She also recounts the family's move to Burley in the New Forest where they took the Queen's Head Hotel and Inn. Edith was married from there to the local butcher, one Arthur Taylor, Lena's father.

How absolutely marvellous for Lena's descendents to have this remarkable memoir of her life and that of her own mother and grandparents. She is thrilled that "his lordship" used to come to the dances on the estate and actually dance with the estate-workers. Terrific stuff!
