Sister Zela describes the plight of herself, sister and Mother at moving from place to place in Burma to escape aerial bombardment, and then being excited at the prospect of crossing the jungle into India on elephants borrowed from cousins. And as refugees being relieved at meeting up with her father again, who had to cross the jungle on foot, and appeared 'like a stick'. Finally Zela recalls the inner strength and courage her mother displayed, and how all these experiences as a child contributed to her own broad understanding of her faith.
