BERT YOUNG IS 96
Bert Young worked on the railways and was station master in the Hampshire village of Breamore until the branch line was closed by Beeching. He has just celebrated his 96th birthday, and today he turned up at the Breamore Breakfast Brunch where the villagers sang happy birhday to him, and made him a cake. Happy birthday Bert!

FAMILY LIFE IN THE CONGO
Oliver grew up in the Congo but was sent abroad for his education so that he could eventually return to run the family business. However the Congo is now a dangerous place to be, and Oliver is settled in London with his family. He now works as a chef at the King Alfred Scool in Golders Green. He would still like to return one day, but was asked if he would be afraid to do so.......
Lucas Rudd's "Who DO You Think You Are?"
As part of their "Heritage Day" the pupils at the King Alfred School in Golders Green were asked to find out what they could about their own family background. It turned out that Lucas seemed to have ancestors from half the countries of the globe! He gave an outline to the head teacher, Dawn Moore.
